One of our team’s daughters, Evie, was born 11 weeks prematurely with Cerebral Palsy. Her family have been told by consultants that she will be unlikely to do many of the things we take for granted such as standing, sitting and walking without help! However, in America they have developed a revolutionary operation which would mean Evie has a greater chance of standing and walking unaided.
3d leisure wanted to help Evie and her family raise money for the operation which costs £50,000!
On Thursday 24th March 2011, 3d leisure organised a charity golf day at Camberley Heath Golf Club. The day started with bacon sandwiches and coffee before the 20 teams took part in a 9 hole Texas Scramble competition. Everyone returned for lunch and prepared themselves for the afternoon of an 18 hole stableford competition. After a fantastic day of golf, everyone returned for dinner and drinks where we held a raffle and an auction.
The day was a great success and we are pleased to say that we raised £8,000 for “Evie’s Journey”
We would like to thank all of our teams for attending the golf day. Also a very special thank you to all of you who so kindly donated prizes and lots for our auction. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Evie underwent her operation on Tuesday 29th March 2011 and we wish her every success and a speedy recovery.
Due to such positive response, we will be holding another golf day next year on the 29th March 2012.
