On 27th September 2017 we opened our doors across the UK to do our bit for National Fitness Day. The aim being to get the unactive, active. We asked people to complete 1 mile of exercise, this could be done by any means, from walking to cycling, swimming to rowing, just as long as it was a mile in length. The event was titled ‘Go the Extra Mile’.
Over 50 sites were involved across the group with a fantastic 2478 ‘extra’ miles being completed! To put this into perspective, this would be enough to get from London to Cairo… with a few to spare!
Paul Ramsay, Operations Director, said ‘We believe that National Fitness Day is a very important date in the calendar and decided over a year ago that we would get fully behind it once again for 2017. As a company we are passionate about getting people active which is why we used the day to open our doors free of charge to the general public and encouraged as many as possible to complete a mile of movement. We are delighted with the amount of people who have been involved this year which is largely down to the excellent social media campaign that Andy Rudkin has coordinated for us across the clubs’
Time to get our thinking caps on ready for National Fitness Day 2018!
