Client Update: February 2025
As a Health & Wellbeing management partner, we operate within four key subsectors: hospitality, workplace wellbeing, residential, and education. While many of the services we offer are transferable across these different sectors, this does mean some of the information within our newsletter will not be relevant to all clients, but we hope there is something for everyone.
For some of our clients in hospitality, January and February can be a relatively quiet period of the year, but for us and our teams, they are the months that we most look forward to, as this is the time when many people are thinking more about their health and wellbeing and looking to make some positive changes to their daily routines.
As I write, we are coming towards the end of February and as a group, sales so far have been solid at around 8% up on last year, and we know that the industry is also reporting growth, although around 5% currently.
As a company, 3d has continued to grow over recent months and we now proudly work with 150 clubs across the UK and Ireland. We very much value every individual client, and we would like to thank you for your continued support.
– Paul Ramsay, Managing Director

Additional Support
With the number of sites that we work with growing, we must continue to expand our support team to ensure that sites are getting the support and guidance that they need. We are delighted to announce that Cheryl Eccleston has recently been promoted to Group Spa Support Manager and will work within our northern operations team.
Cheryl will continue in her role as Spa Director of Rena Spa at The Midland whilst using her extensive industry experience and knowledge to support other spas across the group.
Cheryl has been an integral part of our team for the last 3 years managing our flagship spa after previously holding several roles over a 10-year career with Village Hotels, including Group Spa Operations Manager.
Cheryl has said “I am delighted to be given this opportunity which means that I can continue to drive spa performance at The Midland forward, whilst also supporting and developing some of the other spa managers within the group”.
Technogym Global Education 3-day Event

Last year our Corporate Club Manager of the Year award was sponsored by Technogym and was won by Michael Watson from The Gym at AIBP. The prize for this recognition was an invitation to the Technogym Global Education 3-aday Event which was held at the Technogym Village in Cesena.
The event provided the opportunity to learn from industry-leading professionals on topics that are shaping our industry. The fitness industry evolves rapidly and attending events like this encourages our team to stay ahead of trends, new technology, and best practices. Attendance also contributes to professional growth, boosting confidence and leadership skills that can positively impact the entire gym environment.
The event included 5 master speakers including ex-Olympians, a high-end athletic endurance coach and a Strength &Conditioning coach to NFL players; each sharing knowledge of their fitness/sport/wellness specialities. There was also a tour of the village including the factory warehouses where they custom-build the kit Michael said, “It was such an incredible event, I learned so much and met some great people from across the globe”.
Paul Ramsay, 3d leisure Managing Director noted, “It is fantastic to be able to support and develop our talent with opportunities such as attending this event, we are very grateful to Technogym for their ongoing support and for sponsoring this award each year”

Guinness Fun Triathlon 2024

The weather gods shone on us this year as we completed our 24th Annual Guinness Triathlon on Saturday last in glorious sunshine and blue skies.
41 dedicated Triathletes showed up with smiling faces and determination to compete. Showing their support were some first-time triathletes, many long-time stalwarts and a host of other competitors who travelled from many parts of the country to take part. Many of those travelling were family and friends of our late colleague John O’Mahony in whose memory the winning trophies are named.
With last year’s Winning Female and Winning Team unable to participate this year – the only title holder from last year participating was Cathal Boland – the question was could he retain his title?
Well, the answer is yes he could… and he did.
Congratulations to the ever-smiling Cathal Boland on retaining the men’s title for the 2nd year in a row.
Congratulations to Jennie Dignan, another former winner of the event (and long-time supporter) on taking the ladies’ title this year.
Congratulations also to Shane Henry and his two sons, Conor and Niall who claimed the team title. Shane participated as an individual many times and we were delighted that he made it a real family affair this year.
Thanks to ALL our amazing competitors for both their generosity of spirit and generosity in fundraising for the Children’s Health Foundation and to Emma Callinan in the Children’s Health Foundation who have been our charity partners since the beginning.
