3d launches Student Fitness Initiative
We have recently worked with Wey Valley School to launch a new course that will see students study health and personal fitness.
Energise and Educate is a revolutionary new programme for children in schools that was launched at the start of the new school year and will involve students understanding more and participating in dedicated fitness exercise. To help the students measure and record effort we have introduced Myzone technology to enable the students to gain a better understanding of how taking part in exercise is affecting them.
Stuart Heath, Head of PE at the Wey Valley School, welcomed the new course for Year 9 students, ‘We have a good number of students who are keen to learn more about health and fitness and how this can benefit wider school studies. The course, which involves time in the fitness studio and in the classroom is a recognised GCSE qualification.
Nathan Wood, 3d Leisure Centre Manager at Wey Valley added, ‘We recently introduced Myzone into the facility to enhance the offering to our members and thought that it would be great to also help the students. CLSP, who are a charity that 3d work with nationwide, offered to fund the investment for the students which has been really well received’.
Mark Bremner, Managing Director of 3d Leisure, who initially researched the ‘Energise and Educate’ programme, having visited schools in the USA where the programme has been established added, ‘We wish all the students success with their studies and we trust the superb fitness facilities and the new Myzone equipment will enable outstanding results academically and physically for all. We firmly believe that a healthy body will lead to a healthy mind’.
