This week sees our Managing Director Paul Ramsay reach a significant milestone as his first day with the company was on August Bank Holiday 1996, meaning he has reached 30 years’ service.
Paul originally joined us as a part-time gym instructor at Scotch Corner and over the years has filled the roles of Bar Man, Duty Manager, Club Manager and Operations Director, before moving in to the MD position in 2019.
Back in 1996 we managed 5 sites and had around 40 staff, a far cry from today where we currently work with almost 160 sites around Europe and employ over 900 fitness and wellbeing professionals. Paul said ‘Back then I was just a young lad who was interested in fitness so applied for an instructor job. Once I joined 3d I became engrained in the culture and passionate about helping the company grow. I owe 3d so much, it’s where I met my wife and over the years I’ve had the pleasure to have worked with some fantastic colleagues and with some really valued clients.
